replaced

Post  Lucie on Sat Feb 25 2012, 02:19

Sitting in the corner of a dark and dusty loft,
Sat a clapped-out Christmas fairy with fallen wings where she had coughed.
Her dress, which once had dazzled as the sequins caught the light,
Her dainty feet wore pearled slippers upon her shimmering tights.
Her wand had been encrusted by diamonte's at the tips,
But now she lay in tatters, of dowdy satin rips.
And there she sat a-sobbing. Betrayed by those she loved,
Replaced by cheap immitation, and in the attic, shoved.
Not a second thought or feeling to how she might be sad,
Forgotten and forlorn remembering celebrations that she'd had.
And hearing all the laughter every year from down below,
Holding in every emotion as to let it show.
So if you change your decor, spare a thought to who's about.
And remember-she saw your children grow. Try not to leave her out.

vaguely the words " clapped out"...
strangly the "soap" ode rekindled memories also...

....Now , now, lets have a nice 'CLEAN' fight, shall we.... :D
