Talk to the heart..lets go

Post  Lucie on Thu Mar 15 2012, 11:09

Be still. My beating heart, tonight
A-slow. And stop. To cease.
For we have lived quite long enough
All friend's and foe's deceased.

Alone. This world is lost to me
The days bare comfort, not.
As I only remenis of old
Today's youngsters have long forgot.

They cannot understand me
Nor wish to hear my tales
Like those around me. Lost in thought.
Each memory-ship sets sail.

Yet nothing here to stay for
I have lived the life twas set.
Tis best my friend, we slip away
To our life before, less we forget.

Oh how the oceans of memories pull me
Closure now is what I am needing
My ship, it awaits for the journey, long
To stop our heartaches and the bleeding.

And as my eyes begin to close
The skies beyond look bluer.
The warm breeze blows gentle o'er my face
Feeling younger, at peace, the pains fewer.

Yes leave us here. My heart and I
Travelling onward as the world grows dim.
To start a chapter of life anew
Reunited with long lost kin.

What a brilliant insight of the elderly......we have many that feel that they are ready for that final journey.....you have portrayed the very essence of their thoughts....bless you my love. xxxxxx

What do kids know today about getting old?. I remember being in the canteen at Wood Green having grub when I was young Guard. My old Driver kept hyping on about Pensions and all that. Me, I was thinking "Yeah, yeah boring" as I scoffed another chip yummy yummy.
But old age catches up with you so, get in as much as you can while your young enough.
Smashing poem brings home the need to get things done and not worry about the consequences it may bring.
I like it Egg and Bacon Like sunny
