Terceira On My Mind

Post  Robert Anderson on Sun Apr 22 2012, 05:28

Painting, (Terceira On My Mind) By Robert Anderson, (c) Robert Anderson 2012, Acrylic to canvas

Terceira On My Mind

I woke from a dream to a dream today
Do you know what I’m trying to say?
I reached for you and stroked your face
You were fast asleep to the human race
I decided not to take your place
And pushed myself from slumber
Within all this encumber
The coldness of the tiled floor
Had me tiptoe to the door

I rubbed the sleep from my eyes
Full of yawns and misty sighs
I fumbled to the balcony
The bulls and cows were out at play
The cuckoo was the clock that day
As the grass began to intertwine
With vines as stiff as a human spine
Within a wind so fresh and fine
I resolved to this moment as mine

Taking my time
I pored myself a glass of wine
And sat within what seemed sublime
That barn had seen a better day
And I wondered how long it would stay
What leys for it around the bay
With it’s rugged beauty, come what may
And caved in roof where bushes lay
The melancholy of the fray

The vine trees looked old and baked like clay
They needed an hour glass to hang and sway
In paintings I’ve done my trees that way
All bare, misshaped, torn and twisted
But I never knew they really existed
A figment of this imagination
Come to life by my causation?
And yet I smile with no frustration
Just trust to life within equation
And let the wind blow over me

As I look out towards the see
A butterfly like busy bee
Landed on my glass
With all it’s brass
It seemed not to be afraid
I left it there as I lazed
I was still amazed
As the sun came out and blazed
I took this day in kind
I was no longer blind
Terceira was on my mind

Sounds like such a beautiful place Bobby. I see the painting took on a different huge from what I'd seen earlier, or is that the lighting?

You are still . . . THE Artist

Your captivated:-) bev

Hiya Bev xxx
It is just a different lighting , (indoor) I had made slight changes and so took another quick pic before posting it here. I am glad you like it Bev . It is going to hang in a Lake House In Canada. Do you remember The Old house I painted? (around 2 years ago) It was of the Oldest house in Glasgow. That painting is now hanging in The oldest house in Glasgow. I was so honoured to achieve this and still find it hard to believe? ha,ha! I saw a , Jackson Pollock painting sold for around $33,000,000...... only when your dead?
Anyway , I hope your all having a lovely end to the weekend xxxxx

Hiya back! Yup, I remember the Glasgow painting very well. And I knew it now resides in that house. Isn't that place just a couple miles or so away from your Glasgow place? I think I remember a pic of M standing in front of the place with 2 BIG guys in Kilts, lol.

I saw Jackoe running around over on the old Bpoetry site:-) Can I bring him back? Many of these folks have never met little Jackoe:-)
