A New Generation.

Post  Sue McDonald on Wed Jun 13 2012, 01:03

Riley George, a joy to have
your growing up so fast,
born to Chris and Amy,
your loving Mum and Dad.

I remember the day that you were born
so exciting and filled with joy,
there were NO speed limits
on those roads, as Grandpa drove your way.

Over hills, sharp corner turns
we drove to you so fast,
quarter to ten, we got the call
we arrived at quarter past !!

As we pulled up to the hospital
this tall and handsome man, ( your dad )
came strolling, slowly through the doors
so proudly with his son,  ( though it made me sad )

I wished I had the camera, ready for that shot
it's in my mind for life now, the only one I've got
other photos taken, not one that can replace
the look upon his softened face, holding Riley, full of grace.

Chris looked towards his father, handed him with care
the child his precious wife had born, his son, his son and heir
Grandpa was so gentle, he whispered in your ear,
Welcome little Riley, welcome to the world.

I felt the pride swell up in me, as I held baby close
I also felt the tears arrive, as they fell off my nose.
My ''baby boy,'' this gentle giant, a father now was he
so proud of all he's done in life and what he has achieved.

A tiny bundle wrapped up warm, nestled in the arms
of a Dad so tall and solid, would make sure you saw no harm
we came to see new family, your Mum so tired, though proud,
was radiating beauty, after delivering sweet child.

You've grown so well together, have gone through ups and downs,
through it all with love and joy, Riley George has perfect grounds,
grounds for growing up in , a home with love and care,
to have parents, God has blessed and with them his love is shared.
