Write the Day (Scribe Diem) Empty Write the Day (Scribe Diem)

Post  mikeschultz on Wed Jan 02 2013, 07:50

I would write,
but my hand grows tired
at recording the minutia
of each day’s coming and going,
as a snail, or a wink.

Awareness,
aware of its own,
the mind encapsulates division
by association. Priori filings line
cerebral convolutions.

Chemical-
electrical random thoughts,
heart-felt or dreaded memories,
residue of old longings,
disappointments and smiles.

I will write,
glad to be alive, and living
outside the worldly arena,
nested in Poetry, writing,
as each day’s Muse allows.

Michael Schultz © January 1, 2013 (1901)

The Latin subtitle, Scribe Diem, is pronounced Scri-bay Dee-um and translates to the phrase used for the poem’s title, “Write the Day.”
