Voices of our Children

Post  Sue McDonald on Sun Apr 15 2012, 22:26

The voices of our children,
though adults they are now,
will stay with us forever,
a sound so young and free.

You would hear them in the garden
playing with their friends
then when a silence happened
you would check, it was the trend.

I loved to hear them giggle
their laughter true and real,
the telling of their secrets
in secret voice they would reveal.

Those tender little moments,
of a child young and naive
as they would voice their young opinion
and no one would agree !!

Language is so special, when in voice it joins
creating conversation, that has died to a degree
lines of communication, as children we were taught
to always keep them open, now their closing with out thought.

We teach our children language, also how to speak
they end up with a T.V friend, their life becoming bleak,
A friend my daughter knows, is at her house today
having conversation, remembering how they played.

Voicing their opinions, on how the birth should go
no arguing or judgements, just letting their words flow
friendly chat that started, many years ago
when words were just a babble and bubbles she would blow.

They say silence is golden,
sometimes I disagree,
the human voice a wonder
when its used naturally.

Such lovely memories Sue......I remember our Lucie waking in the early hours starting with a soft humming of a song and gradually the hum would develop into a full blown operatic performance!!!!
Boy do I miss those beautiful melodious tones! Hahaha!
The innocence of youth..... sunny

A long lost art is talk today
No conversation e'er passes lips,
No expression seen to share the joy
Instead, they type in code with quips.

Tis' sad to know our social nature
Face to face in communication
Has quickly evolved to cyber chats
Withdrawn by our own isolation!
