MONDAY MAYHEM

Post  BC Williams on Mon Oct 03 2011, 06:39

Morning peoples of the poeming forum. I have a thing to tell you all about so you can stop wondering where she is. SHE, that'd be me, has what they call a situation happening in her life right now. David's ex wife had a stroke through the night, 9/29. Then 9/30, she had another one. Tests reveal she has had multiple mini strokes over a period of many years, leaving her brain pretty scarred. She has suffered a fair amount of weakness to her left side, meaning that when she goes home today, she will begin a life that for a time at least, will be quite different from what she has known before.

That family is excepting many prayers on her behalf. The road will be long and difficult, and I too will need to ask for your patience as my appearance on this forum may be limited for the foreseeable future.

Now, I just want you to know I expect nothing less than complete cooperation on the part of my crew here at BpoetryWriters. Dori, you're back. This means YOU are in charge of making sure all new poems get at least one comment. Feel free to comment more at will. (As many of you know, Peter is off gallivanting with Irish lassies in the highlands, so we can't hold him to too much this week:-)

Jin and Lucie, your job is simple: write poems. Richard, hehe, you've caught us with our pants down. Enjoy and . . . write poems.

New Prompt is up for grabs. Any one of you, as bona fide members, can step up to plate. We're looking for fresh, fun material, so wet your noodles and GO!

Thank you ALL for your presence in this forum. It wouldn't be a forum of poet/writers without each and every one of you.

group hug

BC

such a sad story of events, I wish both families all the courage and support they need and a speedy recovery to the dear lady.
We will, as ever, keep this little party going on your behalf tho will miss your valuable comments. Everyone here is an important asset and each bring so much to the forum that you have never to fear its fall- am pretty sure our Pete, although flinging his kilt high, is not too far away from his blackberry!!

All the best xx
catch you when we can
god bless

Thanks girls. It was a long day yesterday. Lots of positive things happened, and today, she is going to a rehabilitation center specializing in stroke patients. I watched her yesterday afternoon, laying in that bed, she didn't know. She was starring off deep in thought. Her life has drastically changed - in a blink of an eye. She is a medical transcriptionist . . . with that left hand, who knows her future. Shared son is getting POA today . . . it HAS to be, but as I watched her laying there in her deepest thoughts, my heart broke for her. Could be me. We are the same age . . .

Thank-you Bev for the up date on how she is doing, I hope the rehab therapist will be able to help her even just a little bit....

I'm working (but not too hard) on the poems, I was thinking about having a Halloween prompt, what do you think ?
