River Storm

Post  Sue McDonald on Sun Oct 09 2011, 18:50

[

Wind wisps through willows bent
easing branches in water sent
wind is howling picks up speed
river wrens their home they need

Storm is crawling through the sky
grabbing clouds then pushes them aside
grey and white not a patch of blue
as the weather changes in front of you

Rain beats down with deafening sound
creating a stir as it hits the ground
thunder and lighting argues in the sky
as the rivers wildlife tries to hide

Willows bend and bow down low
praying soon this storm will go
new formed leaves are torn away
sent down river to the birds dismay

Wind wisps through willows torn
broken branches down river flow
river wrens repair storm damaged home
wind now gentle a relief from the storm.

Beautiful writing Sue, about an awesome topic. I love storms, but then, I haven't experienced my first hurricane either:-) But I've always loved being out in a storm . . . under something of course:-)

Good writing and good pictures Sue Like a Star @ heaven

Loved it Sue great writing and all but true to life how a storm can change the Earth. We don't think that the wildlife are also affected by the weather. But they seem to adapt to their terrain. Smashing writing Sue.
